... Flood Warning extended until late Thursday night... the Flood
Warning continues for
the Cahaba river near Cahaba Heights.
* Until late Thursday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:30 am Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 17.5 feet by this
morning. The river will fall below flood stage after midnight
tomorrow.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... flooding of some commercial property in the
area begins at stages near 18 feet.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham al has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Coosa River at Childersburg.
* From Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon...
* at 7:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 400.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 402.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage
tomorrow early afternoon .
* Impact... at 402.0 feet... flooding of low lying areas begins at 402
feet. At 404 feet flooding of some low lying roads in the area
begins... and the yards of some homes near the river become flooded

The National Weather Service in Birmingham al has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Coosa River at Gadsden.
* Until Thursday morning...
* at 7:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 510.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 511.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 511.7 feet by tomorrow morning . The river will fall
below flood stage by tomorrow late morning .
* Impact... at 512.0 feet... some residential flooding begins in the
Gadsden area when the Coosa River reaches 512 feet

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 6 PM CST
this afternoon.

West winds of 15 to 25 mph can be expected on area lakes and
waterways today.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

... National Weather Service survey team will investigate storm
damage in northeast Alabama today...

With damage reported in Calhoun County and possibly a few other
counties in northeast Alabama... a National Weather Service
assessment team will be on site later this morning to survey these
areas. Information gathered from the survey will conveyed in public
information statements as quickly as possible.
